This client was in need of a new website to showcase all her recipes. I first got in contact with her from her Instagram. She posts delicious plant based food and I was a big time fan of her content. She soon realized she needed a new way to show the recipes off and wanted to engage with her followers more. I delivered her a fully customized responsive website with two blog pages for her recipes and thoughts. Another 4 pages of content to help tell her story and to connect with her followers. I created a fictional surf magazine called Salty. I was inspired by my upcoming trip to Hawaii, the North Shore holds some of the best surf competitions with the top surfers. I knew I wanted to create something to represent this.
The design process came to me quickly after I picked the two main colors. I wanted to create a bold vibrant cover that would catch your eye. I followed this with beautiful photos and smart typography that would keep the reader interested.
Social Media Strategy & Email Marketing
LASHD is a lash company based just outside Vancouver, BC. They are a team of lash professionals who strive for perfection with every order. They sell their products on their online shop, and promote themselves through social media and email marketing.
I have designed multiple emails to promote their products on Mailchimp. I’m also managing their Instagram page, posting engaging photos and stories to promote their business. As you can see I use a planning app to preplan all their posts and captions, this keeps me organized and on track. I have included analytics of how I’ve helped their page improve within the weeks. GRAPHIC DESIGN PRACTICUM
While I was working at Privilege Clothing my main responsibilities included graphic design. I worked on many different elements depending on the store promotions. I made email campaigns, posters, Instagram stories, web banners for every promotion.
With @styleforthepriv having over 69k followers it was important to make a perfect design each time with interactive elements. Every promotion Privilege had they would send out an email before to announce it to all the customers in the database. I accomplished this with MailChimp. Here are my top 4 email campaigns that were engaging and interactive with lots of CTA to make customers want to shop.
Studio 105 is a salon filled with passionate stylists who asked for a website to bring a more cohesive branding experience to their salon. They wanted a modern sleek website to showcase what they offer and how they do it. Their customers are very important to them and I wanted to make sure the website would be an simple hassle free experience to view. Logo Design & Business Card Design
Pretty Strong Studios is owned by Jane, she owns a studio to help women empower each other with workouts. She is a certified women's health and fitness coach who was in need of a new branding. She asked for a new logo and business cards to represent her studio and her own image 'Strong with Jane'.
These are some of my favourite designs that I’ve come up with. All designs were designed by me for fun and were displayed on my Instagram Page. I love drawing using my Wacom tablet to create little doodles to self illustrations. I also love playing around with typography and trying new things out that catch my eye!
I created this mood board to represent the design style I’m into at the moment. With design always changing and evolving it’s fun to make these to see how your style changes within the years and reflect on them.
Social Media Management
I'm in charge of Shawna Russell’s Instagram stories and highlights. Shawna has been a professional hair stylist for around 35 years, and she was in need of some new social media branding. I started a new series of stories which include 'Flashback Fridays' & 'Monday Tips', these were a fun way to interact with her followers. To keep her followers up to date on her most recent posts, or when her next hair class might be, I always have a perfectly laid out story. I film her balayage classes for her followers to watch for behind the scenes looks, and I keep them on her highlights, which I’ve designed covers for.

While I was attending BCIT I had an InDesign course. We were asked to create a National Geographic magazine layout for print and iPad, I decided to make a “20 Best Surf Towns” Edition. I love the beach and the idea of learning more about surf towns, so I had to research the best towns. I decided to explore more about the top 4 towns for this assignment.
I created 4 pages in total, the homepage and three pages which included the best surf towns. I did this in 2 different layouts, horizontal and vertical for an print and iPad. I got to explore my creative side to make the layouts look exciting and attractive to readers. Since magazines are so text heavy white space is very important here.
This logo was made for a new business specializing in eyelash extensions. She wanted a logo that represented her business in an obvious way. For this I decided to incorporate lashes into the logo, but in a subtle yet classy way.
This logo was for a new boutique that was opening up, they asked for a very soft feminine logo. She wanted rose golds, pinks, and a heart added into the logo. I designed two logos for them to use for their labels, posters, and store signs.
I was approached by the owner of Nailie Beauty Studio; she wanted her existing website to have a complete makeover. She had her heart set on a whole new look that was simple and modern, unlike what they had before. I made a fully responsive website with Wordpress, you can check it out here.
These photos are a comparison of the website they were using before contacting me. You can see the outdated features, heavy fonts, and the lack of good ux/ui design. Then you can see the after I was able to create for them a very clean interface that lets the customer have an enjoyable experience.
I created this booklet for Shawna Russell, she has been a professional hairstylist for 36+ years. She teaches balayage classes ( a form of hair painting) all around Canada. She recently traveled to Toronto to teach at the Schwarzkopf ASK Academy which was an amazing trip. Of course she’s taught many other classes in Vancouver, BC where she’s from. Shawna was in need of a teaching booklet for her students, this is where I came in and designed the “Balayage With Shawna” booklet. Every student received one and it had all of Shawna’s tips and tricks listed inside.
This logo was made for Bash Beauty, a new business that sells hair extensions. She was wanting a feminine feel that would attract her type of customers. I achieved this logo in a timely manner and the client was very satisfied with the results.
I was inspired to make a poster for a final project in one of my Photoshop’s class. I’ve always been a fan of the tv series “Gotham” so I knew it would be a perfect fit to recreate a poster.
This was a fun project to work on since there were no instructions or restrictions, I got to really experiment with the provided tools in Photoshop. I wanted it to have a dark and mysterious look since that's how the series is portrayed. I also wanted to recreate the same font and effects the series used. My main goal was to make it as realistic to the real posters.
I masked multiple different images, color corrected and added text effects to make the final achieved look. I used illustrator to make the vector logos, ABC and FOX logos that are on the bottom of the poster.
I created this website for a client who was new to the beauty industry and was in need of a website for her small business. She asked for an online booking system so that her customers could book their appointments hassle free. It’s fully responsive and has all the tools she needs to promote and advertise her business.
